Silica and kaolin reinforced aluminum matrix composite for heat storage

چکیده

Abstract This study used aluminum scraps to produce a secondary metal matrix for heat storage analyses. Silica and kaolin reinforced composites were successfully produced via stir casting. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) employed phase microstructure characterization. XRD revealed alumina (corundum), kyanite phases while SEM indicated pores in the composites. Density, average specific (from 30 200°C), thermal conductivity, hardness tests carried out. Total energy stored per kg, from 200°C, was obtained. inclusion of 7.5 15 wt% increased 474.3 564.57 J·kg −1 ·°C 679.03 , respectively. Likewise, adding silica sand conductivity 154.99 175.62 W·m 181.38 addition value 72.11 73.11 HB, 81.38 82 Hardness with is higher than that sand. attributed molecular weight kaolin. Significant increase achieved.
